This round trip leads us through Eastern Madagascar, where we will discover mountain cloud forests as well as rain forests and the island of St. Marie. Andasibe
The first stage of your trip leads from the capital Tana into the east to the rain forests of Andasibe. In these fantastically mountain cloud forests, you’ll be able to see the biggest lemure of Madagascar: The Indri. But there are even lots of other fascinating creatures inside this amazing forest.
Manambato – Akanin’ny Nofy
Afterwards, we visit Canal des Pangalanes and the lake of kings. We’ll do an interesting boat trip and attend a nice private nature reserve. Thisis where you will meet a lot of lemurs – Indris, black and white ruffed lemurs and even Aye-Ayes live inside the reserve. To relax and refresh yourself, you’ll get the chance to swim in the lake of kings after your excursion.
Toamasina – Mahavelona
From Manambato the journey continues to the biggest metropolis of the east coast, Tamatave (Toamasina). The famous spice market gives you the chance to get in touch with local people and culture (and of cause, you can buy vanilla, pepper, cinnamon and other delicacies there). The next destination on the route is Mahavelona with the historical castle of King Radama I. and where you can relax a bit on the beach.
St. Marie – Nosy Nato
Our journey goes on to the seaport Ivongo and ends when we’ll arrive at the gorgeous isle St. Marie (Nosy Boraha) and later go to the amazing island of Nosy Nato, where you’ll relax and snorkel for the last days. In August, you can observe the humpback whales (boat trip optional).

You can do The eastcoast’s allure with at least two persons individually at any time of the year. Group travels include six to maximally ten persons, who may be separated into smaller groups in national parks and reserves. This way everyone can photograph withour ruffle, watch the animals undisturbed or simply enjoy nature. You can take advantage of a group travel without having restrictions in nature experience.
