Madagascar is an island with so many faces, and we want to bring you close to all of these. This interesting round trip leads our guests to the gate of the south, into the mountain cloud forests of the south-east, and finally to the tropical east of Madagascar. You can expect interesting excursions and a deep insight into flora, fauna, and the exciting Malagasy culture. And at the end of this travel so rich in experiences, you can relax in the warm water of the Indian Ocean, and enjoy the most beautiful beaches of Madagascar.
Ambositra – Ranomafana
From the capital Antananarivo we go 250 south to Ambositra, the city of woodcarvers. Here you can watch the artists working. The next day, you arrive in the amazing rainforests of Ranomafana in the late afternoon. Relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere! Our jungle excursion is planned for the next day, and afterward you can enjoy the hot springs which gave this locality its name.
Ambalavao
The travel goes on to Ambalavao, the city of Zebus and the largest market of medicinal herbs in Madagascar. In Anja Community Reserve, which is part of Andringitra mountains, you meet the famous ring-tailed lemurs and climb one or the other rock. Remember that this place’s nickname is “Rocky Park”.
Antsirabe – Andasibe
Now we head back to the central highlands. On our way, we stay one night in Antsirabe, where you can visit one of the many gemstone workshops or Marcel’s small bonbon factory. We drive more than 200 km to the east, to the rainforests of Andasibe. In this magical, marvelous mountain cloud forests, you can meet the Indri, the largest of all lemurs.
Manambato – Canal des Pangalanes
Your next destination is the lake of kings. A boat trip on the Canal des Pangalanes brings you to a private nature reserve. We will spend the next days discovering the rainforests, meeting a lot of lemurs and maybe you are lucky to watch the bizarre Aye-Aye at night.
Toamasina – Mahavelona
The travel continues in the northern direction. In the largest seaport of the east coast, Toamasina (Tamatave), you visit the spice market to buy pepper, vanilla, and other delicacies. Then we travel to Mahavelona, where the historic castle of king Radama I. waits. Later you can cool down swimming in the Indian Ocean.
St.Marie – Nosy Nato
In the morning, we take the ferry to the island St. Marie (Nosy Boraha) and the smaller, but paradise-like island of dreams, Nosy Nato. Here you can snorkel, bath in the turquoise blue sea or just let the travel die away at the white beach under palm trees. After some days, the airplane brings you back from St. Marie to the capital.
